A Midsummer Night's Dream - Act 2 Scene 2

A Midsummer Night's Dream, a play written by William Shakespear at around 1595 or 1596, is an interesting work of art. It talks about quite a number of characters in rather different situations throughout the play. Be it the group of actors preparing for what seems to be the biggest play of their lives, or the two couples and their endless troubles. The play has many twists and turns, a lot of dark humor, drama; it is basically a fun adventure, for any age and time.
ACT 2 SCENE 2
Act 2 scene 2 is a rather interesting part of the whole play, as it shows the relationships between Hermia and Lysander and Helena and Demetrius. It also shows the relationship between Titania and Oberon. Our task was to identify five unique things or scenes going on in that section of the play. We were then supposed to recreate those scenes by taking pictures that would represent those scenes. The task was simple but at the same time quite a handful.
THE TASK
FIRST SCENE: OBERON CHARMS TITANIA
In this part of the act, Oberon is charming Titania using the juice of a magical flower that he sent Puck to get him. Oberon and Ttitania have fallen out over a changeling boy that Titania has in her possession. As much as Oberon wants this boy for himself, Titania will not at all give him up. This angers oberon, makiing him seek revenge. He charms Titania to fall in love with the first beast that she sees. This beast ends up being Bottom, who has been charmed to have a donkey's head. Titania hears Bottom singing after everyone who was around him is freaked out by his appearance, and Titania instantly falls in love with him.
“Wake when some vile thing is near.”

SECOND SCENE: HERMIA REJECTS LYSANDER WHEN HE WANTS TO SLEEP WITH HER
In this a[rt of the scene, Lysander wanted to sleep in the same spot as Hermia, as he was mad in love with her. owever, Hermia stands her ground. Lysander tries everything in his power to make Hermia agree to him sleeping with her but it does not work when she says,"Nay good Lysander, lie further off yet, do not lie so near." This is basically her rejecting Lysander, depsite loving him.  This causes Puck to charm Lysander to fall in love with the first person he sees, as he does not know what exactly happened before he saw the two lovers sleeping far apart from each other.

“Nay,  good Lysander; for my sake, my dear, lie further off yet, do not lie so near.”

THIRD SCENE: PUCK CHARMS LYSANDER
As stated before, Puck walks in and finds that Lysander is sleeping far away from Hermia. Seeeing this as uncourteous, Puck charms Lysander to fall in love with the first person he sees. However, this does not work out well as he then falls in love with Helena, who wakes him up after she sees him sleeping in the woods.
“When thou wakest, let love forbid”
“Sleep his seat on thy eyelid.”

 FOURTH SCENE: DEMETRIUS REJECTS HELENA
After Demetrius and Helena seem to have been lost, Helena tells Demetrius that she really loves her. However, Demetrius does not want anything to do with her. He firmly rejects her and walks away, leaving her alone. It is then that Helena finds Lysaner sleeping on the ground, wakes him up and Lysander falls head over heels for her.
“I charge thee, hence, and so not haunt me thus” (Demetrius)
“O, wilt thou darkling leave me? Do not so.” (Helena)
FIFTH SCENE: LYSANDER TELLS HELENA THAT HE LOVES HER
Immediately Lysander sees Helena and falls in love with her, he obviously tells her, and gives her many compliments. However, Helena thinks that he is making fun of her. And who can blame her considering that she had just been rejected by the man she loves and now Lysander, who has a girlfriend, is telling him that he loves her. Lysander even secretly breaks up with Hermia as she sleeps, but this does not convince Helena quite enough. She still thinks that he is mocking her.
“Not Hermia but Helena I love:” (lysander)
“Wherefore was I to this keen mockery born.” (Helena)
SIXTH SCENE: HERMIA IS CONFUSED AS TO WHY LYSANDER HAS DISAPPEARED
After all this has happened, Hermia wakes up from a nightmare in which a snake was eating her heart and Lysander was just standing there, doing nothing to help her. Unknown t her, Lysander is now in love with Helena, and has secretly broken up with her.

Either death or you I’ll find immediately.”
